Seedstars World Startup Competition 2016

Seedstars World promotes, connects and invests up to $1,500,000 in emerging market startups through its exclusive startup competition in 60 countries.

DEADLINE

Kenya: September 20, 2016.
Ghana: July 5, 2016.
Ivory Coast, Nigeria: June 28, 2016.
Brazil: Aug 2, 2016

PRIZES

• Equity investment: The competition offers up to $1,5 million in total prize funding and approximately $5 million in services and other prizes to contestants. You’ll be exposed to VCs, corporates and angels searching for investment opportunities.

• Coverage & Prestige: All Seedstars World events are heavily covered by local and international press with around 500 articles published on the world tour and final event for the 2014 edition. Represent your country at the worldwide Final Event in front of an international audience.

• Partnerships & Network: Join the close knit Seedstars World community of talented entrepreneurs in 50+ countries. Find potential partners and business opportunities at the events and through the network.

• Learn & Grow:  Benefit from the knowledge of corporate leaders, serial entrepreneurs, accelerator directors and investors - hand picked top-quality mentors from all over the world with experience in relevant industries.

ELIGIBILITY

• The Competition is open to all persons who are 18 years or older and who are citizens or legal residents in any country in which one of the Local Events are being held. 
• The Startup must have been launched within the last 2 years
• If the Startup has received external funding, it can only be up to $500,000
• The Startup must have a demonstrable product or service (Minimum Viable Product, MVP)
• The founders of the Startup must be prepared to talk about it in public
• Pitch and application documents must be in English or you must provide a translator
• Your startup can be from any sector but must be for profit.
