Cowbellpedia Secondary School Mathematics TV Quiz Show

The objectives of the Cowbell sponsored competition are: 

• To awaken the consciousness and interest in mathematics among Junior and Senior secondary school students in Nigeria. 
• To improve students’ performance in Mathematics Pan Nigeria. 
• To create a credible platform for identifying outstanding students and encouraging excellence in Mathematics. 
• To provide a creditable platform that will reward excellence in the subject area of Mathematics. 

DEADLINE

Registration for the qualifying exams: 14 March 2016 at midnight (GMT). 

PRIZES

The competition is in 2 Stages:

Stage 1: Qualifying Written Examination.

Stage 2: TV Quiz Show. (54 students per category will compete for the Future Inventor prize).

There are prizes for Candidates and Teachers both at the State and National levels and the schools. 

Students

1st Prize: N1,000,000 for each category

2nd Prize: N750,000 for each category

3rd Prize: N500,000 for each category

Teachers

1st Prize: N400,000 for each category

2nd Prize: N300,000 for each category

3rd Prize: N200,000 for each category

Winning schools

Computers and Printers 

The National Winners will also be treated to an all-expense paid vacation.

The first 500 Schools to register their candidates for the 2016 qualifying exam will get special prizes.

ELIGIBILITY

The Mathematics Competition is open to students from 10 - 18 years of age (JSS 3 or SSS 2 only) attending full time Secondary Education in both Public and Private Schools in Nigeria. Entry into this competition is free. 

Each School is required to present their Best 10 students in Mathematics (five from JSS3 and five from SSS2), 

Mixed Schools are encouraged to nominate a minimum of two (2) girls for each category. 

OTHER KEY DATES

Stage 1 (Qualifying Written Examination) will hold in all states of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Saturday, March 19th, 2016 at 10:00am. 

Results for the qualifying exams will be published on June 1, 2016.
